The Windsor, based on an original design from the 19th century, is a terrestrial 54x refractor constructed of solid brass and mahogany. Modern computer generated optics ground to a .25" wave tolerance make up the pin sharp optical system. The Windsor makes shot work of long distances with its terrestrial eyepiece. The 3.25" achromatic objective lens is coated with magnesium fluoride for maximum clarity. The solid brass altazimuth mount makes total maneuverability smooth and easy. A separate four power, five element finders scope locates the subject quickly. Rack and gear focus does the rest. The Windsor features an altitude post which is adjustable for height. The brass is brightly polished to a mirror finish, then lacquered, while the mahogany woodwork has been lacquered and hand rubbed for a stately appearance.
