in 1860 by Admiral Fitzroy - provider of the world's first weather forecasting service and
earlier Captain of the H.M.S. Beagle (of C. Darwin fame). The instrument carries his
wording, a F & C thermometer and a chemical weather glass. Mercury movement. Mahogany
case with lacquered brass fittings.
